Getting Started

Welcome to HostFilya! Whether this is your very first website or your fiftieth, this guide walks you through everything from signing up to flipping the switch on launch day. Take it one step at a time — there's nothing here you can't do in an afternoon.

1. Create your account

Head to our homepage and click Get started, then enter your name and email address. You'll choose a password and confirm your email with a one-time link we send you. That's your HostFilya account created — it's the single login you'll use for hosting, domains, email and billing, so keep those details safe.

Tip: turn on two-factor authentication from your account security settings right away. It takes thirty seconds and is the single best thing you can do to keep your sites safe.

2. Choose the right plan

Not sure which plan fits? Here's the short version:

• Starter — perfect for a single website, a personal blog or a portfolio.
• Pro — our most popular plan, built for growing sites that need more room and a free domain for the first year.
• Business — for higher-traffic sites that want staging environments and priority support.

You're never locked in. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your dashboard, and the price is prorated automatically — so it's fine to start small and grow into a bigger plan later.

3. Register or connect a domain

Your domain is your address on the web, like yourbusiness.com. You have two options:

Register a new domain

Search for the name you want during sign-up or from the Domains area of your dashboard. If it's available, add it to your order and we'll register it for you. Pro plans include a free domain for the first year.

Connect a domain you already own

Already bought a domain elsewhere? No problem — you can point it to HostFilya by updating its nameservers, or transfer it over to us entirely. Our Domains & DNS guide covers both routes in detail.

4. Build your site: WordPress or the site builder

Once your plan and domain are in place, it's time to actually build something.

Install WordPress in one click

If you want the world's most popular content platform, open your control panel, find the One-Click Installs tile and choose WordPress. Pick the domain, set an admin username and password, and we'll handle the rest — WordPress is ready in under a minute.

Use the drag-and-drop builder

Prefer to skip the code entirely? Our free website builder lets you pick a template and drag blocks into place — text, images, buttons, contact forms — and publish when you're happy. It's included with every hosting plan.

5. Already have a website? Request a free migration

If your site lives with another host today, you don't have to rebuild it. Open a Migration request from your dashboard, tell us where the site currently lives and give us temporary access, and our team will move your files, databases and email across for free — usually with zero downtime.

Where to find your control panel

Your control panel is mission control for your hosting. To reach it, log in to your HostFilya account, click Manage next to your hosting plan, and it opens straight away. From there you can manage files, databases, email accounts, SSL, backups and more.

Going live: SSL and DNS propagation

Two things happen automatically when you go live. First, we issue a free SSL certificate so your site loads securely over https:// with the padlock showing — and we renew it for you before it ever expires. Second, when you point a domain to us, the change has to spread across the internet, a process called DNS propagation. This usually completes within an hour but can take up to 24–48 hours worldwide, so don't worry if your site isn't visible everywhere immediately.

Your first-day checklist

Run through these in order and you'll be set up properly from the start:

1. Confirm your email and turn on two-factor authentication.
2. Choose a plan that fits — you can always change it later.
3. Register a new domain or connect one you already own.
4. Install WordPress or start building with the site builder.
5. If you're moving an existing site, open a free migration request.
6. Check that SSL is active and your site loads over https://.
7. Set up a mailbox at your domain (see our Email Setup guide).
